WW costume in progress

Description

I made this for my daughter for Halloween this year. It's incomplete, but this is the bodice.

I actually took scrap material and draped and pinned a sloper (a mockup of a bodice that you use for a pattern for dressmaking). my daughter glared at me and kept asking me when she would be finished stanging there and holding her arms up like a scarecrow, but it went well. I got the darts lined up pretty well and it fit nicely once I added ease.

That's red costume satin from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Chintzy stuff, I hope it's not flammable. It has a hint of glittery fleck in it and looks nice when light hits it. I cut out the applique from a pattern I drew out myself. I downloaded a picture of the logo after image searching on Google and drew it bigger and puffier, and I used the one with the eagle head instead of the one without. I already added the "girdle" at the bottom of the waist, as you can see. If we have a cold night on Halloween, my girl will have to suit up in a turtleneck and thick tights or leggings underneath this, but I don't want her to be cold.

I will post more in progress pics as this develops.

Nice...tho' shouldn't the belt/girdle be a bit more wide?
